The psychology behind the signs
The machine’s voice makes the message specific to the equipment. The crew’s established practice provides social proof, and the instruction names the next action. Placed where someone is about to reach in, start the machine, or approach moving parts, the sign is designed to bring the expected behavior to mind at the moment judgment matters most.

Before reaching in — full message and application
Follow this machine's complete lockout procedure.
Where it fits: For a line where reaching into the machine for the intended task requires the complete lockout procedure.
Application limits: For employees trained and authorized for the task. This label does not show whether the machine has been locked out or whether the required checks are complete.
Discussion prompt: A jam needs clearing. What must happen before anyone reaches into this machine, and who is authorized to do it?
Before starting — full message and application
Follow this machine's start-up procedure before operating the controls.
Where it fits: For equipment with an established start-up procedure and a defined way to check that people are safely positioned before starting.
Application limits: A clear work area is one part of start-up. Required guards, warning systems, and any release-from-lockout steps still apply. Do not use where the wording could suggest a visual glance is the entire procedure.

While stopping — full message and application
Before clearing a jam, cleaning, or repairing, follow this machine's complete lockout procedure.
Where it fits: For machinery whose moving parts continue moving after a stop command.
Application limits: The end of visible motion is not permission to reach in, clear a jam, clean, or repair. The complete lockout procedure remains necessary for the stated servicing application.

These labels support existing safeguards, procedures, training, and required warnings. They do not indicate the machine's current condition or replace its operating or lockout procedure.
Install under the facility's safe-access procedure. Record the design, version, machine, location, and installation date. Replace damaged, obscured, or unsuitable labels, and review placement when equipment or procedures change.
Product details
Format and material
The planned format is a 10 × 7 inch laminated adhesive label for suitable indoor surfaces. Film, adhesive, finish, temperature range, and cleaning limitations will be published after printer selection and physical-proof review.
Individual labels and the starter pack
Reserve individual labels at a planned $12 each, or the three-design pack at a planned $29. Reservations are free and carry no obligation to buy. We will confirm the product, shipping charge, applicable tax, and total before requesting payment.
Shipping and reservation changes
The first print run is expected to ship by November 1, 2026, subject to the run going ahead. This is a shipping target, not an arrival date. We will confirm the shipping charge and date before requesting payment. You can change or cancel a free reservation by emailing info@soinsafety.com. No payment is collected at this stage.
What the signs are intended to do
The signs pair a first-person reminder of crew practice with a direct instruction. Product-specific improvements in decisions, behavior, or injuries have not been established. The initial reviews address wording, suitability, and comprehension.

The first run uses fixed wording. Use the application guide to choose a design that fits your equipment and procedures.
